French Antique Furniture and Works of Art
Every piece of furniture offered here is selected for its quality,
carefully restored according to traditional methods,
studied in its historical context, and described and documented
with the same attention to detail as a catalogue entry.
Philippe Glédel has been offering and selling antiques online since 1998
and welcomes visitors by appointment.

A Carefully Researched and Documented Selection
Our most important pieces are accompanied by detailed catalogue entries,
including bibliography, provenance, comprehensive descriptions
(wood species, gilt-bronze mounts, marble tops, maker's stamps, etc.),
comparative studies, condition reports and numerous close-up photographs.
The website brings together the discerning eye of an antiques dealer,
years of hands-on
experience
and rigorous documentary research.
A privateer's frigate chest of drawers in solid mahogany.
Constructed with hooks, half-blind dovetails and double unpegged tenons,
making the piece completely and rapidly dismantlable and,
in this respect, absolutely unique in French furniture.
